I am pleased to update the Sheridan community on the following changes made to the Applied Research and Innovation team. These changes are being made to strengthen the team and better support Sheridan’s journey towards becoming the premier undergraduate teaching university.
Dianna Dineveski
Dianna has agreed to assume the role of Industrial Liaison Manager. Dianna holds an MBA and has extensive industrial and academic experience. Dianna was in the Acting Industrial Liaison Manager role since October and has been instrumental in helping Sheridan fulfill its commitment under the pilot Fed Dev Ontario Applied Research and Commercialization (ARC) Initiative Program, which concluded March 31. She will continue to work to ensure that the projects are closed successfully and that strong and positive ties to our funders are maintained. Dianna, who brings an energetic and positive attitude as well as strong networking skills to the position, will work with the faculties to help identify applied research opportunities. She will also act as the interface to our community and industrial partners.
Carolina Salcedo
I am pleased to announce that Carolina has agreed to join the Applied Research and Innovation team in the newly created role of Project Coordinator. Carolina brings very strong organizational skills as well as communication abilities to the team. She has already made a significant impact on applied research outreach strategy by creating the “Innovator” and helping to organize a number of Applied Research and Innovation events. Carolina will continue to work very closely with Kelly Karius on communications and outreach activities, including the Office of Applied Research and Innovation’s first annual report. Carolina will also assist Dianna on documenting and organizing applied research projects.
Stephen Plunkett
I am excited to announce that Stephen Plunkett has agreed to assume the role of Project Manager for the Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT). Stephen will assist John Helliker and his team in bringing the NSERC College and Community Innovation (CCI) Program to not only a successful conclusion but to a transition to exciting endeavours in the future. Stephen was recently Director of Creative Services at the Rogers Communications Design Group/Sportsnet. He brings extensive experience in the film and television industry as well as strong project and production skills to the position.
