Dr. Wael Ramadan from Pilon School of Business was invited on December 2, 2015 to have lunch with the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Jordan at the Rotman School of Management – University of Toronto. A selected niche of Canadian Government Officials together with a delegation of businessmen from Jordan and University of Toronto professors were invited to explore and discuss collaboration opportunities. This event was hosted by the Canada Arab Business Council.
Dr. Ramadan, is an active academic, researcher and speaker in the professional community. He is the Past President of the Lakeshore Chapter of Project Management Institute (PMI) and he is frequently invited to speak at professional conferences and events.
During the month of October, 2015, Dr. Ramadan was invited to speak at two professional events in Toronto:
- “Strategic Project Management” on Oct 29 at Ryerson University – Toronto.
This presentation demonstrated that organizations need to continuously adapt and restructure in order to survive and grow. Strategic management should be seen as an art of survival and project management is an output of this creative art. It is crucial to understand the link between project management and strategic management and its implications for project managers in order to enable the successful completion and delivery of project benefits.
- “Project Management for Engineers” on Oct 26 at the City of Toronto Engineering Career Forum – Toronto.
This presentation focused on the framework of project management and its implementation and benefits for Engineers. It described recent industry trends and opportunities for Engineers in project Management. It also described the Project Management Professional Certification process and its benefits for Engineers.
Dr. Ramadan also spoke earlier this year at PMI events in Toronto and he is also currently finalising his research paper on Strategic Project Management to be submitted for publishing in a peered refereed journal during 2016.
