Staffing Announcement – Pilon School of Business

The Pilon School of Business (PSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Associate Deans to the PSB leadership team.

They are Linda Batch, Mamunur Rashid and Anne-Liisa Longmore. All three have served as professors in the Business School and bring their unique industry and academic experience to the school.

Linda joined the PSB Faculty in January 2012 with many years of industry experience as a Financial Accounting Manager, Controller and Professional Engineer. She has taught courses in business information systems, financial accounting and finance in both the Diploma and Degree programs.

Linda’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Engineering from McMaster University as well as a MBA from York University focused on Accounting and Business Policy.  As a Professional Engineer, Linda is also a CPA and CMA. She assumes responsibilities for the BBA in Supply Chain Management, General Business and the post-graduate programs in Project Management and Business Process Management.

Mamunur joined PSB in 2015 with over 19 years of teaching experience at the postsecondary level as well management experience as a Dean, Head of Business Administration and Coordinator of an executive MBA program. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Banking and a Masters in Finance from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh along with a Master International and Development Economics from the University of Namur in Belgium. He earned his PhD in Finance from Curtin University in Australia. He assumes responsibilities for the BBA in Finance and Finance diplomas along with the subject areas of Math and Economics.

Anne-Liisa Longmore has agreed to step back into the role as Associate Dean responsible for the Human Resources and Office Administration suite of programs. She first joined Sheridan in 2006 and has held a variety of roles including professor in the Marketing program, coordinator of the BBA program and from 2015 to 2017 she was an Acting Associate Dean in PSB. She holds a Doctorate of Education from The University of Calgary, a MA in Continuing Education from Calgary and a Commerce degree from Laurentian University. Anne-Liisa’s previous experience as an Associate Dean in PSB, knowledge of Sheridan College, leadership, and collaborative skills will be helpful during this time of transition.

Carolyn McEwen will be assuming responsibility for the Advertising and Marketing suite of programs and Rob Giberson will have the Accounting suite of programs and Tourism – Global Travel.
